Mực Tàu
Ink drawing, one spot colour·District 11
One colour is enough if you put it in the right place.
Mực Tàu means Chinese ink. She draws with a fineliner and a brush pen in small sketchbooks, thousands of little hatching strokes at a time, and allows herself exactly one colour per picture. In her drawings everyday things let out what is inside them: a kitchen breathes out elephants, a dress in a window turns into birds.
